Demi Moore was one of the best dressed attendees at Variety’s 3rd Annual Power of Women Event this week. Demi looked super chic in an off-white shift dress from next spring’s collection by Victoria Beckham. The dress is effortlessly stylish with a midi-hemline that is very on trend. Demi’s choice snakeskin Alexandre Birman heels are the perfect accessories.

Eva Longoria also stunned in a simple strapless red dress by Salvatore Ferragamo. Whilst the cut is simple Eva goes with red a colour that is instantly dramatic and works beautifully with her skintone.

Twilight star Ashley Greene attended the Toronto Film Festival screening of new movie Butter earlier this week. The actress went for a chic look in a silk chiffon sequin dress from the resort collection by Oscar De La Renta. She teamed the dress with classic black Salvatore Ferragamo pumps.

Evan showed off her fashion prowess in a look from the fall collection from one of the most exciting new designers of the moment – Alessandra Rich. Sarah Jessica Parker has been jetting across the world promoting her new film “I Don’t Know How She Does It.” Last week her promotions took her to Moscow and London. In Moscow she appeared at a photocall for the new film in a pretty black lace shift dress by Prabal Gurung. This is a very pretty dress with the red band detail a fabulous touch adding a pop of colour to the look. Monochrome Salvatore Ferragamo heels complete the look.

Later Sarah was staying true to her on-screen alter ego, Carrie Bradshaw and was spotted heading out to visit luxury shoe retailer, Manolo Blahnik. On this occasion Carrie opted to wear a white strapless dress with red embroidery detailing from the resort collection by Chanel. This is a very lovely dress however I do object to the white heeled pumps, a pair of strappy sandals or even black heels would have been preferable.

For her final stop in Moscow Sarah appeared at the premiere of her new movie in a jaw dropping red caped dress look from the first haute couture collection by Giambattista Valli. This is the perfect dress for a high glamour occasion so whilst it would have been nice to see it on the red carpet SJP does it justice.

Zoe Saldana attended a special screening of her new film Colombiana in LA this week. The Avatar actress wore a coral leather dress by Valentino. This is a chic dress and a nice example of leather being worn in a colour other than black and working. She teams the dress with white Christian Louboutin pumps and a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch.

Sarah Jessica Parker attended the New York premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as a big fan – or rather her children are – of the franchise. For the occasion Sarah Jessica chose a dress from Oscar De La Renta’s resort collection. She teamed the pretty strapless navy and blossom watercolour print chiffon gown with a black blazer by Salvatore Ferragamo. The only issue I have here is with that Ferragamo bag – it doesn’t go!

The presentation of the resort collection by Salvatore Ferragamo took place earlier this week in New York. The fashion event attracted an impressive array of stars, all decked out in their Ferragamo finest. Twilight star Ashley Greene showed off a chic look wearing a belted white dress teamed with a houndstooth clutch and red shoes from the fall collection.

Freida Pinto also went for a smart look, she attended wearing a white skirt and printed halterneck top look teamed with brown sandals. Emma Roberts represented young Hollywood, Emma went for a dark purple wrap mini dress with open front detail teamed with heels from the fall collection.

You know your witnessing one of the A-list events of the year when Angelina Jolie turns up. Angelina appeared at a photocall for her new film Kung Fu Panda 2 at the Cannes Film Festival this morning. For the occasion Angelina opted to wear one of her favoured designers, Salvatore Ferragamo. Angelina’s beige flared belted dress from the resort collection of Salvatore Ferragamo is a far prettier and girlier look than we’re used to seeing Angelina in.

The nominees luncheon for the 83rd annual Academy Awards took place yesterday in Beverly Hills. With a mere few weeks to go until the biggest day in the showbiz calender it provides a chance for those lucky few nominees to win a few last minute votes.

Yesterday’s lunch attracted the A-list from The King’s Speech’s Colin Firth to Black Swan’s Natalie Portman. On the fashion front it’s an opportunity for the stars to bring out their best smart dress before the black tie gowns come out in force. Amy Adams who is nominated in the best supporting actress category for her role in The Fighter looked chic in a pretty white dress from the new spring collection by Valentino teamed with gold pumps by Salvatore Ferragamo.

The odds on favourite to win best actress, Natalie Portman demonstrates how to dress a baby bump with elegance in glamour in a blue kimono dress by Lanvin teamed with a ruby red Christian Dior clutch bag and matching shoes. Nicole Kidman went for a more high fashion look in a printed chiffon dress from the new spring collection by Yves Saint Laurent. Whilst I don’t dislike this look I can’t help but think it ages Nicole.

Finally Michelle Williams who is also nominated in the best actress category for her role in Blue Valentine went for a ladylike look in a monochrome ensemble of tweed skirt and silk blouse from the new spring collection by Chanel with black pumps by Sergio Rossi. Michelle has been a little disappointing on the red carpet of late with a rather disastrous Valentino dress at the Golden Globes, let’s hope she’s saving something special for the Academy Awards.
