Jennifer Aniston appeared last night at the premiere of her new movie Horrible Bosses at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in LA. Jennifer did not stray far from her tried and tested style formula wearing a little black dress, this one a sequinned number by Balenciaga. Strappy sandals by Versace completed the look.

Michelle William’s arrived at the 2011 Critic’s Choice Awards sporting a classic look in a pretty white embroidered design by Balenciaga. Although this dress is a little bit bridal there’s no doubting it’s still tres chic!

Award winner Natalie Portman also went for an elegant look in a monochrome design by Gianfranco Ferre. The long length maxi is a fail-safe glamorous option for the pregnant moviestar.

New York was treated to a star-studded premiere last night when the cast of new film, The Tourist flew in. The film’s stars; Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie attended and flashbulbs were sent wild when Brad Pitt posed alongside his long-term girlfriend.

Angelina Jolie debuted a surprising look; in a move away from her favoured colour black, the superstar appeared in a cream long-sleeved gown by Atelier Versace. Angelina’s favoured designs all seem to include a thigh length split, adding a good dose of sex appeal to her look. Salvatore Ferragamo cream pumps completed her elegant look.

Also in attendance Jennifer Connelly alongside her husband actor Paul Bettany. Jennifer went high fashion in a sequinned dress look from the new spring collection by Balenciaga, toughened up with a leather biker jacket and strappy sandals.

It was a star-studded evening in USA last night with awards ceremonies and premieres across the country. In New York a private screening of Blue Valentine was held at the Tribeca Hotel with the film’s star Michelle Williams in attendance.

Michelle went for a classic look in an oversized silk Balenciaga dress teamed with Tabitha Simmons sandals. Actress Kate Winslet also attended in a more casual ensemble of a Tory Burch blazer, trousers and riding boots.

The Annual Night of Stars event was held last night at Cipriani in New York. The evening attracted fashion loving stars such as Kate Bosworth as well as the industry heavyweights including Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

Kate Bosworth attended alongside Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez the boys behind Proenza Schouler which of course meant she was dressed in one of the duos designs; a shift dress in bright orange (set to be the colour of next summer).

Jennifer Connelly as the face of Balenciaga showed off an asymmetric patterned design from the new spring collection. Finally Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester dazzled in a chic two tone shift dress by Giambattista Valli.

Last night in New York, fashion week was ushered in by the largest public fashion show in New York history.  The event is part of the Fashion’s Night Out celebrations taking place in 15 cities across the globe (London’s turn is tonight).

The world’s most famous supermodels from Naomi Campbell to Gisele hit the runway for a star studded audience that included Gossip Girls, designers Diane Von Furstenberg, Vera Wang and the queen of fashion herself Anna Wintour.

It wasn’t the models so much that wowed but a select few of the attendees. New York’s most famous Gossip Girls Blake Lively and Leighton Meester wowed in fashion forward designs. Blake wore a bright yellow design from the resort collection of Marchesa whilst Leighton’s daring blue bandage dress is by Versus.

Supermodel Bar Rafaeli looked cute in an Azzedine Alaia dress. Not everyone faired so well; Julianne Moore had a fashion nightmare in a baggy Balenciaga dress and hideous wedge boots.

Is there a day that goes by when one of the Kardashian sisters is not spotted out and about? Yesterday was the turn of Kim Kardashian who was out shopping in LA. Kim loves clothes, that much is clear. Whether she always gets her look right is another question.

Yesterday she chose a patterned tunic by Diane Von Furstenberg paired with Christian Louboutin boots and a Balenciaga bag. Kim decided to belt the dress round the waist to make the most of her tiny waist however this look would have worked much better as an unbelted floaty dress.

Katherine Jenkins was the belle of the ball at yesterday’s Cartier Polo, the Welsh opera singer with a penchant for fabulous designer dresses chose the white asymmetric ruffle dress by Lanvin.

The dress comes from the spring/summer collection and has already been seen a number of times on the red carpet. Michelle Williams wore the dress for the Shutter Island premiere and Kim Cattrall chose the same look for the Laurence Olivier awards in London.

Also in attendance at the Cartier Polo was Cat Deeley who looked pretty in a vintage long maxi dress with a Balenciaga bag. Geri Halliwell who is a regular at the event in Windsor Great Park looked cute in a little blue mini dress by Herve Leger teamed with gold Christian Louboutins.

Singer Paloma Faith went for her trade mark alternative look with an oversized hat by Philip Treacy (a favourite of Sarah Jessica Parker) and a floral print shift dress by Dolce and Gabbana.

There has been a certain trend on red carpets of late and it hasn’t been hard to miss. Yellow gowns have been popping up everywhere. Versace used yellow extensively for their spring collection and continue the trend into fall alongside Fendi, Balenciaga and Elizabeth and James.

Red carpet looks have been seen on Lea Michelle at the Tonys in Zac Posen and SJP in Valentino at the NYC SATC2 premiere. It’s not all sunshine and smiles however; the trend is worn with an edgy vibe by Kristen Stewart in a Jenni Kayne skirt for Eclipse promo duties in Sydney.

To wear this trend to its optimum play safe and just stick to one yellow item such as a skirt like Kristen’s and tone it down with a basic top. If you are going to go the whole hog, make it mini, steer clear of anything over the knee too much yellow can result in a banana effect, always keep it short and sexy.

Paris Fashion week drew to a close yesterday. With the sound of the last stiletto retreating back down the catwalk, the end of the ready to wear shows for autumn/winter 2010/11 is welcomed.

As the designers disappear to work on their next collections the fashion pack can rest their weary heads. The weeks of back to back shows, air kissing at afterpartys and stress of deciding what on earth to wear has come to an end.
