STYLE STARS -Who Wore What at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in LA
The LACMA Art + Film gala honouring Clint Eastwood and John Baldessari at the LA Country Museum of Art took place last night. An array of Hollywood’s elite came out with many dressed in Gucci, a partner brand of the event. Camilla Belle was one of the lucky attendees wearing a twenties style sequin gown from the new spring collection by Gucci. She teamed the look with gold Gucci sandals and a sleek black clutch bag.
Reese Witherspoon attended the event wearing a black bandage style dress from the resort collection by Cushnie Et Ochs. The dress is an adapted version of the runway version; shortened and in an elegant shade of black. On the surface this could have been a boring little black dress but the intricate panelling and the cutout detail adds something a little special.
The Devil Wears Prada star Emily Blunt was almost unrecognisable with her new darker hairdo. Emily wore a sheer black embellished dress from the fall collection by Jenny Packham. Whilst I might have got on board with look on someone else, with Emily’s dark hair ad the unfortunate timing (Halloween only last week) the look is a little too gothic for my liking.
Evan Rachel Wood also wore a look from the new spring Gucci collection. A slight variation on the twenties style flapper dress worn by Camilla Belle, as part of a string of designs presented in Milan by the luxury brand a couple of months back. Evan teamed her look with a twenties style hair and makeup for a more head-to-toe look.
Kate Hudson showed off an impressive post-baby figure, just four months after giving birth. Kate wowed in a gold sparkly strapless design dress by Gucci. A bronze bag and Christian Louboutin heels completed the look, as well as a sunkissed tan which always make a great accessory with gold.
Amy Adams attended the event wearing a dress from Gucci’s couture collection, Gucci Premiere. The nude off the shoulder dress with gold embellishment details is a stunning dress but I can’t help but feel it may have been better suited to the Cannes red carpet or a film awards ceremony.
Kate Bosworth attended the event wearing one of my favourite designers, Erdem. Kate chose a pale yellow off the shoulder 50s style dress from the new spring collection. This dress with its delicate lace overlay is such a pretty feminine dress and the perfect choice for the petite blonde.
Hollywood royalty Uma Thurman made an appearance at the event. Uma opted to wear a black taffeta skirt and white top look from the fall collection by Lanvin. This is a slightly more high fashion ensemble but a great look for Uma.
Olivia Wilde went for the wow factor in a stunning red dress. The plunging neckline red gown with embellished waist detail is from the resort collection by Gucci. The dress is a stunning design on its own but Olivia ups the ante with a sleek updo and dark eyemakeup.
Kate Beckinsale brought a good dose of old Hollywood glamour to the event in a strapless white dress from the resort collection by Gucci. The white dress is jazzed up with a gold metal flower belt and a gold metal clutch bag.
Finally Zoe Saldana was the 3rd celeb to wear a spring/summer 2012 Gucci look. Zoe’s gold and black drop waist look with retro hair-do is a pretty look.
