The Moet British Independent Film Awards took place last night in London. Britain’s best loved movie-stars took to the red carpet for the event which saw awards handed out to Colin Firth and Carey Mulligan for best actor and actress and Helena Bonham Carter for outstanding achievement.

The best dressed award goes to Carey Mulligan who is making as much waves in the fashion world as she is in the film industry. For the event Carey chose a bright red gathered bodice cocktail dress, an adaptation of a nude design from the new spring collection by Prabal Gurung. I have a thing for red dresses at the moment and this one is perfection!

Also in attendance, teen star Emma Roberts who went for high street (though you’d never know), in a blue gown by Topshop. Narnia star Georgie Henley gave the prom dress by Lanvin for H & M a red carpet outing. Finally Helena Bonham Carter wore a teal dress by her favourite designer, Vivienne Westwood of course.
