Last night in New York, fashion week was ushered in by the largest public fashion show in New York history.  The event is part of the Fashion’s Night Out celebrations taking place in 15 cities across the globe (London’s turn is tonight).

The world’s most famous supermodels from Naomi Campbell to Gisele hit the runway for a star studded audience that included Gossip Girls, designers Diane Von Furstenberg, Vera Wang and the queen of fashion herself Anna Wintour.

It wasn’t the models so much that wowed but a select few of the attendees. New York’s most famous Gossip Girls Blake Lively and Leighton Meester wowed in fashion forward designs. Blake wore a bright yellow design from the resort collection of Marchesa whilst Leighton’s daring blue bandage dress is by Versus.

Supermodel Bar Rafaeli looked cute in an Azzedine Alaia dress. Not everyone faired so well; Julianne Moore had a fashion nightmare in a baggy Balenciaga dress and hideous wedge boots.
