FAB FASHION BUYS – Lanvin For H&M Haute Couture Show & Top Tips for Shopping
Never has a high street/designer collaboration been as eagerly anticipated as Lanvin for H&M. With a mere 3 days to go until D-day (23rd November for the UK, 20th November for US) the publicity machine, as if it’s really needed, has gone into overdrive with a fabulous show in New York last night. Lanvin showed a special haute couture collection of the Lanvin for H&M range to an audience of celebrities, editors, models and bloggers.
If you’re planning on getting your hands on some of the Lanvin lovelies come Tuesday morning keep these tips in mind:
Pick the right store – for Londoners there are numerous stores stocking the range so don’t just head to Oxford st where it’s bound to be mayhem, hedge your bets and head to a quieter store.
Prepare to wait in line – there will be queues wherever you go so wrap up warm and wait it out.
Be decisive – act quickly, don’t faff about looking at sizes and styles have a look at the collection now decide what you want and be ready to grab it.
Don’t get sidetracked – it’s very easy to get caught up in the hysteria and you don’t want to walk out of H&M plus 3 dresses, 2 skirts and a bag of accessories but minus your Christmas savings, bear in mind although this is H&M don’t expect bargain prices you will be shelling out £100 for a dress.
Don’t go for the obvious pick – this collection is major so if you decide to buy the yellow ruffle dress and wear it at your Christmas do don’t be surprised if you see 4 others who made the same choice, separates and accessories are much easier to make your own.
The H&M website will crash – so if you can make it to a store do!
