Lea Michele at the 3rd Annual Variety’s Power of Women Event presented by Lifetime. (Beverly Hills, CA)
The 3rd Annual Variety’s Power of Women Event took place earlier this week in Beverly Hills with guests including some of Hollywood’s female elite. Glee’s Lea Michele attended the event wearing a white shift dress from the spring collection by Katherine Kidd, not her best look everything from the tacky white metallic to the big shouldered shape doesn’t work for Lea.
Equally badly dressed was Olivia Wilde. Olivia who usually rests firmly in best dressed lists had a style setback in a monochrome dress by Jason Wu. The dress is shapeless and again has the same tacky metallic sheen as Lea’s.

Angelina Jolie’s red carpet looks seem to go one of two ways; drop dead gorgeous (the white Atelier Versace worn at the New York premiere) or completely underwhelming (the L’Agence look for the Paris premiere). Her appearance last night at the Madrid premiere falls in the latter category.
Angelina attended the premiere alongside her newest red carpet accessory (Brad Pitt) wearing a Swarovski crystal encrusted camisole top teamed with an Atelier Versace velvet ball gown skirt. Has she raided a dressing up box somewhere and forgotten to look in a mirror? This look is terrible, right from the boob bearing sparkly top to the unflattering skirt and shrug ensemble.

Eva Mendes was on such a fab run of stunning red carpet appearance at the Marrakech Film Festival in a string of designs by Christian Dior and Oscar De La Renta, and then she had to go and ruin it without a fashion nightmare. Eva attended a photocall last night wearing a staples tiered ruffle dress from the fall collection by Prada.
The colour; a strange lavender with white trim is awful. The ruffles are hideous and shouldn’t be seen anywhere near a red carpet this side of 1990. This isn’t the only awful dress to come from Prada’s fall collection; remember the crime of fashion committed by Dakota Fanning in her leather ruffled dress for fashion’s night out?

Halle Berry attended the LA premiere of her new film Frankie and Alice last night. The Oscar winning actress chose a brocade suit and sheer blouse look from the fall collection by Balmain. Brocade is a big hit this season with the trend for opulence but wearing it in a suit is a little daring and as with Winona Ryder’s Givenchy look the overall effect ends up being a little pantomime.

Angelina Jolie made a surprise appearance alongside her long-term partner Brad Pitt last night at the Paris premiere of his new movie Megamind. The much speculated upon couple put on a very tactile show for the delighted press.
Whilst we may have been impressed (and a tiny bit jealous) of the couples obvious affection, Angelina’s choice of clothing left much to be desired. Angelina hit up the red carpet in baggy velvet trousers with a matching jacket over a sequinned top by L’Agence teamed with Salvatore Ferragamo heels.
In sub zero temperatures it is tempting to head out dressed in your cosiest pyjamas but turning up to a red carpet premiere in them is not advisable……(even if velvet is ‘in’ this winter)!

The Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Awards took place in London last night bringing out a whole host of badly dressed celebrities. First up Fearne Cotton, who looked like she’d raided her grannies wardrobe in a black and white Moschino dress.
Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts who picked up the award for ultimate fashionista wore a bizarre design from the new spring collection by Bodyamr. Bandmate Kimberley Walsh didn’t look much better in her unflattering Sass & Bide mini dress.

Finally Kelly Brook brought a touch of glamour in a chic (there’s one word you never thought would be used to describe Kelly Brook) dress by Azzedine Alaia.

In addition to the Hollywood glamour of Eva Mendes and Jessica Biel on the red carpet at the Glamour Reel Moments event last night, Demi Moore also attended. The actress raised a few eyebrows in her ensemble; leather trousers by Bird, a very low cut shirt by Balmain, a tuxedo jacket and killer Brian Atwood heels.
I have no problem with the look itself, it’s the wearer that is irritating. Yes we all know Demi Moore looks fab for her age (47) but does that mean she has license to wear something better suited to the Miley Cyrus’ of this world? Demi please leave the bra bearing and leather trouser wearing at home..….

Miranda Cosgrove has made a stop in the UK for the London premiere of Despicable Me. The Nickelodeon star made a rather questionable fashion choice for the red carpet in Leicester Square. A black sequinned mini dress by Cut 25 (the contemporary line by Yigal Azrouel) was passable if a little boring.
Where the outfit really went wrong was with the Giuseppe Zanotti boots, they could have worked had they been cut at the ankle but that awkward mid-calf length is nothing but unflattering. Miranda hasn’t always had such fashion faux pas, back in June she wowed at the MTV Movie awards in a red dress from the much celebrated fall collection by Versus.

Whilst there is no doubt that the cape is one of the must-have items for your wardrobe this winter it has some limitations, enter Lily Allen. Buy your cape in plain camel/black/navy and you will fare well, introduce any kind of pattern especially of the monochrome variety and you are entering very dangerous territory.
Lily Allen attended day 2 of London Fashion Week today wearing an airline blanket, sorry I mean cape, from the pre-fall collection from Louis Vuitton! We have had the misfortune of seeing this cape before on Kate Hudson at the Tribeca film festival and it was equally awful the first time around.

Kylie Minogue attended the London premiere of The Kid last night in Leceister Square. Her choice of attire was questionable to say the least….Kylie wore an ostrich feather dress from Gucci’s fall collection for a look that ended up being a little more rocky horror than fashion fabulous.
