London played host to the National Movie Awards last night at the Royal Festival Hall. The event attracted a star studded red carpet including Tom Cruise with wife Katie Holmes and Orlando Bloom.

The big winner of the night was The Twilight Saga which picked up best male performance for Robert Pattinson, best fantasy film and most anticipated film for the upcoming instalment ‘Eclipse.’ Harry Potter, The Time Travellers Wife and Sherlock Holmes also took away awards.

Onto the fashion it was a mixed bunch with Gwyneth Paltrow looking pretty in a pink Prada dress, following her fashion fail at the Louis Vuitton store opening.

Diane Kruger who attended with boyfriend Joshua Jackson (aka Pacey from Dawson’s Creek, wonder if he bumped into Joey/Katie Holmes) chose a metallic look from Lanvin’s fall collection. Metallic is going to be big again this fall, Diane wears it right with black accessories and not flashing too much flesh.

Emma Watson continues with her fashion forward thinking. In Burberry’s home town we were surprised she chose not to wear a design from the brand for which she is the face off. Instead Emma chose a monochrome look not by Chanel as is commonly mistaken rather from Chanel’s creative director, Karl Lagerfeld’s own spring collection.

Katie Holmes looks like she is ready to go to the beach in this black and white maxi dress from her own label Holmes and Yang rather than a red carpet appearance. For reasons unbeknownst to us she has paired the dress with some atrocious shoe boots.

Finally Kylie Minogue who doesn’t normally get it wrong lacked lustre in this short blue design from Emilio Pucci. This isn’t surprising considering the vast majority of gowns from Emilio Pucci have been worn already leaving very little choice for Pucci enthusiasts.
