Amongst the guests at last night’s MTV VMA awards was Demi Lovato. Demi appears to be taking lessons in style from Kim Kardashian and could certainly be mistaken for a long lost sibling with her sleekly groomed locks and skin tight mini silver Mandalay dress. Sky high Christian Louboutin heels complete the super sexy look.

Selena Gomez made an appearance at last night’s VMA awards where she presented the pre-show red carpet arrivals. Selena chose a black lace design from the fall collection by British designer, Julian Macdonald. I’m torn between really liking the sexy vampy vibe of this look or thinking it goes way too far down the gothic route and is bordering on fancy dress. At least she didn’t chose black shoes going for bronze metallic Brian Atwood pumps instead.

Miley Cyrus was another attendee at the MTV Video Music Awards last night in LA. Miley Cyrus, once teen wild child seems to have done some growing up sporting a more reserved look. Miley chose a floor length leopard and flower print gown from the pre-fall collection by Roberto Cavalli. Whilst this gown isn’t completely awful, it ages Miley well beyond her years.

Britney Spears was the star guest at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards taking away best pop music video and the coveted Michael Jackson Vanguard award honour. For the evening Britney (whose fashion choices can at best be described as questionable) looked stylish in a black cap sleeved sequinned playsuit from Moschino. Unfortunately the outfit is let down by the PVC black Gina boots – although on trend for this season, wrong for the outfit and Britney’s legs which are abit on the short side.

Newly married Kim Kardashian made it back from a quick honeymoon in Europe to attend last night’s MTV Awards. Kim wore a metallic silver gown by Kaufman Franco. At first glance this is just another figure hugging gown however a look at the back reveals a low back detail that adds an element of drama to the design.

Katy Perry was one of the more exuberantly dressed celebrities on the red carpet for the MTV VMA’s last night in LA. Katy chose an Asian inspired mini-dress from the fall 2011 couture collection by Versace. This dress was made for Katy, it suits her quirky style perfectly. Pink Jimmy Choo sandals complete the look.

Katie Holmes attended last night’s MTV VMA awards. For the occasion Katie showed off a younger, much cooler look in a black woven mini-dress design by Azzedine Alaia. This look is perfect from the hair down to the dress but is unfortunately completely let down by the shoes. Katie should have just add a pair of black heeled pumps but instead chose a pair of ugly tan lace up boots!

The annual MTV Video Music Awards took place last night in Los Angeles. The event attracted the music world’s A List with everyone from Beyonce to Justin Bieber attending. The big winners on the night included Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and Britney Spears.

On the red carpet the big news came with Beyonce’s arrival who accessorised her draped Lanvin dress with a baby bump! Beyonce looks radiant in this red design from the fall 2011 Lanvin collection, it’s the perfect maternity red carpet gown modest and elegant without being boring. Lorraine Schwartz earrings completed the most talked about look of the evening.

Anne Hathaway made yet another stop on the One Day promotional tour, this time at Westfield London. For the occasion Anne went for a look from the resort collection of British design house Alexander McQueen. The white lace embroidered dress in itself is exquisite, what is unfortunate about this look is the choice of shoes; brown McQueen peeptoe pumps make a clumpy accompaniment and an odd choice of colour.

Rose Byrne made an appearance outside The Late Show this week. The actress sported a stylish look in a green Dolce & Gabbana leopard print mini dress. Rose belted the dress and teamed it with a pair of killer Sergio Rossi heels. The part of this look I particularly like is the sixties style Bardot ponytail.
