Amanda Seyfried attended the London premiere of new film ‘Dear John’ in a black dress by designer Doo.Ri. This is the latest in a string of high profile appearances of designs by Doo.Ri on the red carpet.
So who is Doo.Ri and what are her designs all about? Korean- American designer Doo.Ri Chung studied at Parsons school of design before working for six years at Geoffrey Beene and they starting her own range. After the fashion disaster that was the Paris premiere of new film ‘The Bounty Hunter’ Jennifer Aniston moved onto the Berlin and Madrid on the publicity trail.
In Berlin she showed up in this nude dress from Valentino’s fall 2009 couture collection. The colour is great with Jennifer’s sunkissed skin tone and the delicate beading brings elegance to what could have been a strange fleshy dress. Also love the draping, this is ruching done right in stark contrast to the Christian Lacroix gown.
For the photo call in Madrid she wore this stunning white Gucci ensemble which really is Jennifer at her best. The outfit goes a long way to demonstrate that sometimes it is best to stick with simple chic designs for a flawless look.
For the Madrid premiere she wore this black Valentino dress from the pre-fall 2010 collection with Givenchy shoes. Whilst I have a lot of love for the shoes, the dress brings a divided reaction, with the floating hem looking like it’s been attached as an after thought being the main source of contention.

Gemma Arterton arrived at the premiere of her new film ‘Clash of the Titans’ in a head to toe look by Gucci. Whilst her Gucci ‘Daryl’ shoes are beyond amazing the dress draws rather mixed reactions.
The diamond patch pattern on the front combined with the asymmetric cut of the dress on the shoulders creates a very strange and unflattering shape. Had the dress been cut straight into a shift pattern it would have made for a much more wearable design.

In contrast Gemma’s co-star Alexa Davalos looked stunning in a simple asymmetric black gown.

Jennifer Aniston attended the Paris leg of ‘The Bounty Hunter’ promotional tour in this dress by Christian Lacroix from his spring 2009 couture collection, teamed with black Manolo Blahnik sandals.
We are distraught, the ever glamorous American sweetheart has had an epic fashion fail. The dress is a disaster, there is no two ways about it. The colour is all wrong had it been five shades lighter in a pastel pink it would have been acceptable. And then there is the ruching on the front, it just looks like it’s been bunched up in some terrible sewing accident.
We can’t blame Jen entirely, after all Christian Lacroix made this dress…..

If you have seen the Vogue documentary ‘The September Issue’ you have probably heard of Thakoon. A favourite of Editor in Chief of US Vogue Anna Wintour, Thakoon has set his name firmly on the fashion map.
Thai born Thakoon Panichgul moved to the US at the age of 11. He cut his teeth as a fashion writer and stylist in New York. By 2004 he was ready to launch his first collection. Thakoon’s collections are characterised by elegant designs that are distinctly feminine with innovative attention to detail and fabric finish.
It was during President Obama’s presidential campaign that Thakoon really shot to fame. The glamorous wife of the President in waiting Michelle Obama chose to wear Thakoon’s designs repeatedly. It is not often any designer is given the opportunity to showcase their talent on such a worldwide stage but Thakoon’s designs have achieved this notoriety a number of times.

Thakoon’s designs are as familiar on the first lady as they are on celebrities, including Carey Mulligan, Helena Christensen and Sienna Miller all seen below in Thakoon’s designs.

Thakoon is available to buy online at Net-a-porter.com.

You only have to stroll down the high street or browse through online retailers to see how big nautical is this season. The look was prevalent on the catwalks, see the spring/summer collections from Tommy Hilfiger and Lacoste above at New York Fashion week. A versatile trend you can either go the whole hog with items including striped blazers, naval shorts, motif tshirts or you can try a much more subtle look.
Lady Glamourazzi has discovered these great little ‘Trickster’ bags from Red or Dead that will enable you to turn a simple jeans and a white t-shirt outfit into a stylish nautical look. The shoulder bag is a great daytime accessory whilst the clutch will work day and night.

Available online now for £35 (the clutch) and £40 (the shoulder bag) at Red or Dead.
